Bear Creek Men's Golf Club new info for 2016 AVAILABLE NOW!

GENERAL INFORMATION
The Bear Creek Men's Golf Club was formed in 2003 to promote fun, competitive events for all levels of golfers.  The Men's Golf Club competitions are held on Saturday mornings throughout the year.  Start times vary during the year, based on the sunrise time.  Start times and format are designated on the schedule.

Planned events for 2016 include individual stroke play, both 2-player and 4-player team events, a Match Play Championship and a 36-hole Club Championship in December.

REDUCED RATES AND OTHER CLUB BENEFITS
Bear Creek Golf Course is proud to host the Men’s Club and offers the following to all members:

  • The Bear Creek Men’s Club members pay a reduced rate for Saturday Men's Club tee times
  • Free range balls are provided before our Saturday start time
  • Golf shop discount: 10% off selected merchandise

WEEKLY EVENT ENTRY FEE
The Weekly Event Entry Fee is $15 per player.  This fee is in addition to your weekly Green Fee, and must be paid in cash BEFORE play begins.  From each player's weekly entry fee, $1 is placed in the Club Treasury to fund the annual Holiday Party.  Of the remaining money, $4 is placed into the Flighted Prize Pool and $10 is placed into the Flighted Skins Game.  Prize Pool earnings are paid in Bear Creek Golf Complex gift cards, which can be redeemed for Green Fee, Golf Shop Merchandise, Range Balls, Golf Instruction or Food & Drink.  Skins Game earnings are paid in cash to the individual winners.

WEEKLY EVENT FLIGHTS
Scheduled competitions will be flighted based on the number of players entered each week.  Each flight will have a minimum of 10 players and a maximum of 20 players.  For example, if 19 players register for an event there will be one flight.  If 21 players register for an event, there will be one flight of 10 players and one flight of eleven players.  Flights will be adjusted based on the player's USGA Handicap Index.  Players will receive 100% of their Course Handicap during individual stroke play competitions.

2015 MEN'S CLUB CHAMPIONS
Congratulations to Low Gross Champion, Tony Vanderhyde, with a gross score and men's club record of 5 under par for the 2-day event contested on December 5th & 6th. Ryan Colkitt earned the title of Low Net Champion with a net score of 5 under par for the event.

USGA HANDICAP SYSTEM
The Bear Creek Men's Golf Club strictly enforces the handicap guidelines outlined in the USGA Handicap System. Member’s scores are posted by the Men’s Club. For more detailed information on the USGA Handicap System, please visit their website.

State Golf Associations

ARIZONA GOLF ASSOCIATION (AGA)
The Arizona Golf Association (AGA) was formed in 1923, and has grown to encompass over 400 clubs and 65,000 male golfers.  The Association's purpose is to promote the best interests and true spirit of the game throughout the State of Arizona.  The AGA strives to "Foster the enhancement and expansion of the game by leading in the development of member and information services, the promotion of opportunities for all who want to play, and the protection of the game's integrity and valued traditions."

ARIZONA WOMEN'S GOLF ASSOCIATION (AWGA)
The Arizona Women's Golf Association  (AWGA) was formed in 1924, and continues today with its mission "to promote and maintain the best interests and true spirit of the game of golf among women in Arizona."  The AWGA is a non-profit membership organization that promotes and administers women's golf programs in Arizona. The Arizona Women's Golf Association strives "to be the premiere women's golf association in Arizona, recognized nationally and locally as effective agents and advocates for women's golf."

SOUTHWEST SECTION PROFESSIONAL GOLF ASSOCIATION (SWSPGA)
The Southwest Section PGA is one of forty-one sections of the Professional Golfers' Association of America. Its boundaries include the state of Arizona and Clark County, Nevada. Within the Section is a Southern Nevada Chapter and a Southern Chapter to further facilitate programs within those areas. Their membership is a group of professionals dedicated to making golf a better game. They wear many hats; trained instructor, business manager, accomplished player, personnel manager, junior golf mentor, role model, community leader, rules authority, humanitarian, fund-raiser, and many more as these club professionals are responsible for the day to day activities at many of our golf facilities. The SWSPGA includes nearly 1400 PGA members and apprentices involved in the operations of more than 350 golf facilities.

JUNIOR GOLF ASSOCIATION OF ARIZONA (JGAA)
The JGAA's mission is to serve as the umbrella organization for providing, fostering and supporting comprehensive golf programs for youth in Arizona. In fulfilling this mission, the JGAA believes that, through participation the youth of Arizona will be encouraged to value honesty and integrity, develop perseverance, self confidence, patience, sportsmanship and enjoy the game of golf for a lifetime. At the Junior Golf Association of Arizona, they have a passion for junior golf and an appreciation of values inherent to the game such as honesty, integrity and respect.
