HAMILTON HIGH SCHOOL BOYS GOLF-Varsity
The Boys Golf team has created a legacy of excellence at Hamilton High School.  The team has won four straight AIA Class 5A – Division I state championships (2005, 2006, 2007 & 2008).  Led by Coach Steve Kanner, the team seeks to continue its great play in 2009.  This year’s team is stocked with another group of outstanding golfers, lead by seniors C.J. Kim – the defending individual state champion - and his twin brother Chun Ji Kim.  Junior Cameron Palmer and sophomore Ken Iida also return from last year’s championship team.  Senior Doug Murphy, sophomore twins Aaron and Nathan Wong and freshman Kyan Palmer will also be battling to break into the varsity lineup.

HAMILTON HIGH SCHOOL BOYS GOLF-Junior Varsity

The quality and depth of the players trying out for the Boys Golf team has led Hamilton to create one of the few Junior Varsity programs in Arizona.  Coached by Ozzie Perez, the JV team follows the same practice and qualifying guidelines as the varsity.  They play developmental competitive matches internally and against other schools.  The JV players at Hamilton strive to sharpen their golf skills and are working hard to shoot lower and lower scores.

Hamilton, Kim take 5A-I boys golf titles
The Varisty Golf team methodically stretched its 13-stroke first-round lead into a 28-stroke victory at Papago Golf Course to win its fifth straight Class 5A Division I championship. Senior CJ Kim and Junior Cameron Palmer shot the tournament's only subpar rounds, a 2-under 70 and a 1-under 71, respectively.   "This is the culmination of the success we had the whole year," Kanner said. "The kids always seem to play well at the right time. This team seems to have a knack for doing that."     Golf Boys 5A Division I Fall 2009

"I played way better than yesterday," said Kim, who has committed to the University of Denver.I putted better and adjusted to the speed of the greens. I played solid, just very solid. It's kind of tough to keep the ball in play and hit greens here, so my goal was just to keep the ball in play."
